Tiananmen Mission (2024)

Tiananmen Mission is the epic story of a young man, Zhang Jian, who faced bullets, temptations, and the grind of daily life to uphold his conscience, courage and his devotion to humanity. Unprepared and unplanned, without any studio makeup, under the natural light, we recorded his magnificent journey to freedom in a small hotel at a border town of France in 2005. This simple recording however became one of the most complete, authentic and truthful films about the Tiananmen student movement in Beijing and a refreshing storytelling of Chinese people.
